Materials:
- Yellow cardboard paper
- Scissors
- Googly eye
- Coloured feathers
- White craft glue
Method:
- Use the scissors to cut out a duck shape.
- Spread a thin layer of craft glue all over the card.
- Let the child stick the coloured feathers onto the duck.
- Use craft glue to stick on the googly eye.
Materials:
- 2 paper plates
- A3 black cardboard paper
- Silver star stickers
- Blue paper
- Black paper
- Orange paper
- Scissors
- White craft glue
- Pritt glue
- White feathers
- White paint
Method:
- Paint the back of one of the paper plates white. You may have to do 2 coats.
- Whilst drying, cut the other paper plate up to make 2 wings.
- Cut out 2 rounded squares from the blue paper.
- Cut out a rounded triangle from the orange paper.
- Cut out 2 small circles from the black paper.
- Use Pritt glue to glue on the eyes and beak.
- Use the craft glue to stick the wings and head to the black card.
- Use the craft glue to stick the feathers onto the wings.
- Randomly stick silver stars onto the black background.
Materials:
- White cardboard paper
- Plastic spoon
- Brightly coloured kokies
- Black permanent marker
- Scissors
- Bostik glue
- Glitter glue
- Fluffy feather
Method:
- Fold the white card into half.
- Cut a section of the top part off to make a square, and thus, a rectangle when opened.
- Keep it folded and cut out curves on the outside of the folded card (see picture).
- Open it up. It should look like the open feathers of a peacock.
- With different coloured kokies, colour in each section of the paper.
- Use glitter glue to draw spirals in each feather.
- Leave it to dry.
- Meanwhile, cut out a very small folded triangle from the white card for a beak.
- Colour both sides, inside and outside, of the beak orange.
- Draw in 2 eyes with the permanent marker.
- Once the feathers have dried, use Bostik to stick the spoon down the middle.
- Put a blob of Bostik just above the top of the spoon and stick on the feather.

- 4 different coloured cardboard paper
- 6 small coloured feathers
- White craft glue
- Pritt glue
- 6 googly eyes

Method:
- Cut the paper plate in half.
- Paint it with many different colours so that it ends up looking brown.
- Cut out 3 long rectangles in 3 different colours for the chicks.
- Cut the corners of the rectangles of so that the corners are no longer sharp.
- Use Pritt glue to stick the rectangles onto the last piece of card, one next to the other.
- Use craft glue to stick the paper plate to the card and over half of the rectangles to mimic a nest.
- Use craft glue to stick 2 feathers to each rectangle.
- Cut out 3 triangles and use Pritt glue to stick them on as beaks.
- Use craft glue to stick on the googly eyes.

- Orange tissue paper
- 2 orange pipe cleaners
- 2 feathers
- Cellotape
Method:
- Cut out a small circle from the yellow card.
- Roll up pieces of tissue paper in small balls.
- Spread a layer of white craft glue onto the circle and paste down the tissue paper balls.
- Use craft glue to stick on a triangular beak and googly eyes.
- Once it has dried, turn it over and cellotape the feathers and legs to the circle.

- 2 googly eyes

- Cellotape
- Coloured feathers

Method:
- Cut out a hour-glass shape from the coloured cardboard paper for the peacock's body.
- Use the cellotape to stick the feathers in a semicircle to the back of the body. Through trial and error, I realised the cellotape was much easier than glue!
- Draw on feet and a beak.
- Stick on the 2 googly eyes with the craft glue.
Below are two variants of a "sensory rainbow". The second one is made out of very different textured materials for each colour and the other is a little simpler.

Method:
- Draw the rainbow in the correct colour order.
- Let the child choose what material he/she would like to stick onto each colour.
- Make sure that the object they choose is the same as the colour of that stripe in the rainbow!
