Messiness: High

Materials:

  • Large piece of white cardboard paper - A3 size or bigger
  • Yellow poster paint

  • Leaves
  • Brown crayon
  • Green crayon
  • White craft glue
  • Pom-pom (optional)
  • Button (optional)
Method:
  1. Paint a large sunflower on the cardboard and leave to dry.
  2. Once dried, spread white craft glue in the middle of the sunflower and sprinkle sunflower seeds.

  4. Harley (3 years) and Scarlett (2 years) decided that their sunflower needed bees and used a pom-pom and button to depict this.

Natural Tree

This is a really nice activity to get children outdoors, even if only for a short while.

Age Group: 2 years (with help) to 10 years
Estimated Time: 15 to 30 minutes
Messiness: Medium

Materials:

  • A4 white cardboard paper
  • Brown crayon
  • Different types of leaves
  • Flower petals
  • Blades of grass
  • Pritt glue
  • Scissors
Method:
  1. Go into your garden and pick different types of leaves - I got hold of 6 different types.
  2. Pick a small, brightly coloured flower.
  3. With scissors, cut off a few blades of grass.
  4. Use the brown crayon to draw a tree trunk and some branches - as you can see, I am no artist!!
  5. Using normal Pritt glue, glue the leaves onto the branches, the blades of grass individually at the bottom of the tree trunk and the flower petals on the other side.
